Team CIS to represent International Wildcard regions at All-Stars Los Angeles 2015
The CIS All-Stars will be representing the International Wildcard regions at the All-Stars Los Angeles 2015 event, thanks to a strong team performance and the 1v1 prowess of mid laner Mykhailo "Kira" Harmash.
In an unusual turn of events, the CIS region finished atop the table despite losing the 5v5 tournament 3-1 at the hands of the Turkish All-Stars, who took the series in convincing fashion. However, the tournament winners were not determined solely on the 5v5 results, but also took into consideration the 1v1 tournament results.
Since no Turkish player made it past the second round of the 1v1, and Kira's slow but steady style earned him first place, Team CIS's total tournament points end up higher than that of the Turkish team, making them the overall winners.
The CIS squad emerged with the most points from the International Wildcard All-Star Melbourne tournament, which ran from Nov. 26-29. They will now travel to Los Angeles to join representatives from North America, Europe, Korea, China and the LMS region (Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau) for All-Stars Los Angeles, which is set to run Dec. 10-13.
Team CIS' roster is as follows:
- Dmitri "Smurf" Ivanov (Top)
- Dmitrii "Dimajke" Gushcha (Jungle)
- Mykhailo "Kira" Harmash (Mid)
- Alexei "LeX" Kitsak (AD Carry)
- Dmitrii "Dimonko" Korovushkin (Support)
- Yury "Flashy" Shilenkov (Sub)
