Cloud9 and Team Liquid to attend IEM Cologne
The poll results are in, and North American fan voting has sent both Cloud9 and Team Liquid to the League of Legends tournament at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne.
The tournament, set to take place at ESL Studios Cologne from Dec. 18 to Dec. 20, will feature six teams from around the globe.
Cloud9 won the vote handily, garnering 70 per cent of ballots, while Team Liquid managed to capture the hearts of 21 per cent of fans. Runners-up Team Dignitas and Team Gravity earned seven and two per cent of the vote, respectively.
Cloud9's last appearance at an IEM event was Katowice's 2015 World Championship, where they finished 7th-8th after GE Tigers sent them to the losers' bracket to be eliminated by yoe Flash Wolves.
For Team Liquid, the trip to Cologne represents their first-ever appearance at an IEM event.
