Mata, looper and Coach Fly join Royal Never Give Up
Royal Never Give Up announced that Cho "Mata" Sehyeong, Jang "looper" Hyeongseok, and Coach Kim "Fly" Sangchul joined the team. The announcement came during the Galaxy Esports Carnival.
This year, the carnival is hosting a League of Legends event themed after the OMG and Royal Club rivalry. Royal Never Give Up unveiled their new additions on stage.
Mata played for Vici Gaming in 2015 after winning the World Championship in 2014. Vici Gaming released Mata after signing Lee "Easyhoon" Jihoon. RNG's statement said the team hopes he will bring a quality upgrade to the team.
looper played top lane for Master3 in 2015 after winning the World Championship with Mata and Samsung White in 2014. After a disappointing season in which Master3 had to play the promotion tournament to remain in the LPL between the spring and the summer, looper left the team. Royal's statement hopes that looper and Mata can recreate some of their synergy this year.
Fly coached Team Impulse in the North American LCS. Royal Never Give Up expects the guidance of the new coach to help revitalize the organization.
Royal Never Give Up's Chinese players from 2015 also attended the event and joined Mata, looper, and Fly on stage. During the Galaxy Esports Carnival, iterations of Royal Club will play showmatches against iterations of OMG. The event continues Dec. 12.
