Mata to join Royal Never Give Up
Cho "Mata" Sehyeong is slated to join LPL team Royal Never Give Up, sources told theScore eSports. The information was all but confirmed when the Vici Gaming weibo posted a message saying Mata will leave to Royal Never Give Up on Saturday before deleting it shortly thereafter.
Through friendly consultations with RNG Electronic Sports Club, former VG League Division player Cho Sehyeong (ID: VG.Tenwow.Mata) will be moved to RNG. Vici Gaming thanks Mata for his contributions this year and wishes Mata the best for the future! Come on! The transfer follows the order of the "L.ACE transfer system" as the basis, and we respect the wishes of the player.
Mata was reported to have left Vici Gaming with the acquisition of Lee "Easyhoon" Jihoon. Following his departure, rumors that he may join Royal Never Give Up began to spread. theScore eSports reached out to sources close to the issue to learn that Royal Never Give Up wanted to sign Mata as part of their revamped bottom lane for next year and are likely to close the deal soon.
Royal Never Give Up finished in the bottom four of LPL in 2015 Summer, but managed to retain their spot in the LPL Promotion. Royal Never Give Up was one of the only two remaining all Chinese teams in the league this year.
During Mata's stay on Vici Gaming, he was fined for misconduct and was reported to have not been completely happy. He did, however, apologize to Chinese fans recently in an interview, and suggested that he was considering staying in China.
