Piccaboo and Nagne leave KT Rolster; Arrow, ssumday, Score re-sign
Lee "Piccaboo" Jong-beom, Jung "Fixer" Jae-woo, Kim "Nagne" Sang-moon, Oh "Mach" Hyun-sik and Lee "Edge" Ho-sung have all left KT Rolster, the organization announced on Tuesday.
"KT Rolster has decided not to extend the contracts of five of their LoL players including Mid-laner Nagne and support Piccaboo, whose contracts came to an end on November 30th," said KT Rolster in a press release.
According to the team, Nagne elected to take some time off due to stress and fatigue, while Piccaboo has expressed interest in playing overseas, and as such did not extend his contract.
KT Rolster experienced a successful 2015, taking second overall in the SBENU Champions Summer 2015 and qualifying for the World Championship after a 3-0 victory over Jin Air Green Wings in the Korean Regional Finals. KT Rolster made it to the quarterfinals of the World Championship, falling 3-1 at the hands of the KOO Tigers.
Piccaboo, known for his skill at roaming and as a play maker, becomes one of the highest profile free agents in Korea. Although he split duties with Fixer throughout the year, he was the primary support for the duration of the World Championship, finishing the event with an impressive 5.0 KDA.
Nagne is an experienced mid laner, having played for both KT Rolster and NaJin Black Sword from 2013-2014. After a rocky start to the tournament, he finished the World Championship with a solid 4.5 KDA.
Fixer has been with KT Rolster since early 2015, at first as starting support and later sharing time with Piccaboo. In 21 games this summer, he played nine on Alistar and held a 3.93 KDA.
Mach and Edge were both substitutes for KT Rolster, with only Edge receiving any play time. He started eight games this summer, mostly on Viktor, and accumulated a 3.26 KDA.
"The sixth man, Fixer and Edge, along with backup AD Mach have not received contract extensions," said KT Rolster of their departure.
The announcement also states that the rest of the team, including Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho, Go "Score" Dong-bin, and Noh "Arrow" Dong-hyeon have all renewed their contracts for the upcoming season.
Closing out their press release, KT Rolster stated that they will rebuild their roster ahead of next season, no easy task considering they must replace two top players at mid and support.
