Loong joins Vici Gaming; Peng, Hetong, Xuan, World6 join Unlimited Potential
Top laner Zhu "Loong" Xiaolong has transferred to Vici Gaming from Unlimited Potential, the team announcedTuesday. Vici Gaming also transferred mid laners Wang "Hetong" Bin, Peng "Peng" Yibo, AD Carry Pi "Xuan" Xiaoxuan, and jungler Chen "World6" Yutian to their former sister team, Unlimited Potential.
As Vici Gaming previously revealed Choi "DanDy" Inkyu will be returning to the jungle for the next season, a top lane acquisition like Loong makes sense for the team.
Loong earned the highest percentage of team gold among top laners in the 2015 LPL Summer Season and received praise for his carry performances, despite the fact that UP were relegated at the end of the year. He will likely make his debut for Vici this weekend in the National Electronic Sports Tournament match against LGD Gaming.
Vici Gaming's transfer of Hetong, Peng, Xuan and World6 is surprising. Both Peng and Xuan started for Vici Gaming during the LPL playoffs, and Hetong and Peng shared the mid lane position for the season. Vici Gaming has two additional substitute AD Carries to replace Xuan, Li "Vasilii" Weijun and Xu "Endless" Hao, but neither seemed to impress.
It's still unclear who Vici Gaming will play in the mid and AD Carry role next year with these trades, but their matches this weekend could shed some light on their situation. Vici Gaming have a history of dipping into the solo queue pool for young new players when searching for talent.
